(Aug. 27 2014; St. Paul, Minn) – American Public Media today launched the Infinite Guest network (infiniteguest.org), which includes six new podcasts, three hit national radio shows, and three existing podcasts with an already strong following. Fans of some of the country's most fascinating people will have a new way to spend time with their favorite artists.

New podcasts from Infinite Guest include offerings from writers Sherman Alexie and Jess Walter, hip-hop artist Open Mike Eagle, etiquette experts Lizzie Post and Daniel Post Senning, PBS Idea Channel host Mike Rugnetta and others. The personality- driven network gives hosts the freedom to work in a new setting while engaging with notable guests, existing fans, and new listeners. From best-selling authors to unconventional musical acts to the best food, culture and comedy shows featured on public radio, Infinite Guest has something for every curious mind.

"We know that listeners are moving to mobile platforms and they are hungry for rich conversations and content from interesting people," said Peter Clowney, Managing Director of National Content Development and Arts & Ideas Programming. "Infinite Guest allows creative and thoughtful hosts to make great shows that fans will love to hear, whenever they want and wherever they are."

Popular podcasts from public radio shows The Dinner Party Download, Wits and The Splendid Table will anchor Infinite Guest. The network also will feature rising podcast stars such as Karina Longworth and her forgotten Hollywood histories on You Must Remember This, and music lover and video game soundtrack explorer Emily Reese on Top Score.

"It's really exciting to work with so many talented hosts as they develop their voice in a new medium," says Steve Nelson, Infinite Guest Program Director. "They're the kind of people you want to hang out with, and you'll be able to do that any time."

Play, exploration and discovery mark the ethos of Infinite Guest. Meeting the needs of the growing mobile listening audience, the network will provide an on demand audio experience where some of the most fascinating people will take listeners into the heart of culture, life, food and comedy.

Infinite Guest will launch with a dozen podcasts.

Existing Podcasts

You Must Remember This: You Must Remember This is a storytelling podcast exploring the secret and/or forgotten histories of Hollywood's first century. It's the brainchild and passion project of Karina Longworth (founder of Cinematical.com and former film critic for LA Weekly), who writes, narrates, records and edits each episode. It is a heavily researched work of creative nonfiction: navigating through conflicting reports, mythology, and institutionalized spin, Karina tries to sort out what really happened behind the films, stars and scandals of the 20th century. @KarinaLongworth

Life of the Law: Take a look. The law is all around us. It's what makes us who we are and defines how we live together every day. Life of the Law invites you to join us as we explore how the law works. The more we pay attention to what it is, the more we can engage in conversations about what we want it to be. @TheLifeoftheLaw

Top Score: Some of the scores for video games are incredibly intricate and deserve recognition, which is why we've created Top Score: a series of podcasts dedicated to the music that accompanies soldiers through battles, sorcerers through forests and aliens through space. @TopScorePodcast
